Washington, DC -- DCist.com is pleased to announce its seventh annual DCist Exposed Photography Show at Long View Gallery, running March 26 to April 7, 2013. Out of nearly 600 individual entries, 42 winning images were selected for this year's DCist Exposed exhibit. DCist prides itself on engaging and promoting emerging local photographers through its daily use of images from the popular, reader-generated DCist Flickr photo pool.

Just like last year, we're holding two opening receptions, Tuesday, March 26 and Wednesday, March 27 from 6 to 10 p.m. Our photographic celebration of the Washington D.C. area will be accompanied by a celebration of local talent. Guests will enjoy an open bar featuring Three Stars Brewing Company, which will provide a selection of their beers: Peppercorn Saison, Sea Change Pale Ale, Southern Belle Imperial Brown, and some rarely available cask brews. We'll also have hors d'oeuvres by Farm to Feast, led by chef Alexis Starkey and assisted by local high school kids learning the art of the kitchen. We've invited DJ Sequoia back to spin tunes. Wine and soft drinks will also be provided. Tickets are $10 in advance, with limited $15 tickets at the door.

A full-color Exhibition Program with the 2013 winners will be available for $10. The special issue 5th Anniversary Magazine from 2011, featuring the first five years of winners, will also be available. At the reception only, visitors can purchase them together for $30.

Long View Gallery is located at 1234 9th St. NW, just a few blocks from the Mt. Vernon/Convention Center Metro. All photographs displayed at DCist Exposed will be for sale at prices well below traditional gallery shows to encourage new art patrons. Regular gallery hours are Wednesday-Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, 12 to 5 p.m.

The 2013 DCist Exposed Photography Show is sponsored by Ten Miles Square, Three Stars Brewing and Farm to Feast. The attached graphic was designed by Lynne Venart with photography by Angela Kleis. Exhibit .jpgs available by request.
